classic love films at st luke's

14 February 2010

Sunday 14th February 2010 welcomes the Year of The Tiger, and to celebrate this and Valentines Day USL have lined up a special programme at St Luke's Church.

Throughout the day you can see a preview of the Hollywood Homeless Exhibition on the railings. The full exhibition will be unveiled during the rest of February.

At 4.00pm the Hollywood Homeless Collective will give a short performance, before we welcome the Lion and Unicorn Dancers to help us bring in the new year at 5.00pm.

Then at 5.30 we'll be screening BRIEF ENCOUNTER - a classic romantic drama tracing the evolving relationship between two people who meet in a railway tea room (remember those?).

And for an extra special treat for lovers we'll be showing one of the most famous films of all time CASABLANCA. You know the song, you know the famous lines. Come and join us and watch Rick and Elsa remember why and how they fell in love and lost each other. It could be the start of a beautiful friendship.

Wrap up warm. Bring chairs and blankets and a picnic for lovers.

PLEASE MAKE A GENEROUS DONATION AT THE DOOR.
