ONE NIGHT ONLY An evening of celebration and fundraising for USL and St Luke’s (bombed out) Church Friday 9th September at St Luke’s from 6.30 pm. Tickets £5 (before 8pm/advance); £8 after 8pm When they heard that USL's funding had been cut by the Arts Council, our wonderful friends at the Fab Collective decided to take action, and rather than hold their annual exhibition at St Luke’s, they have agreed instead to auction the pictures that would have been on display. The auction will be conducted by Nick Bray (of Partridge Bray Auctioneers) and he has invited his partner Adam Partridge (Flog It!) to get involved. So if you come early enough you might meet a tv celebrity! And there’s more: Hope Street Harmonies, Mervyn Gersh, Fabian Rothschilde and John Head are all donating performances, and local artist Bernie Howden has donated the most amazing painting of the Bombed Out Church “in action”. And our very good friend Joe Farrag from SHAP Ltd has made his PA and technical stuff available .... so it’s going to be a humdinger of a night. There’ll be a licensed bar, where we will serve real ale from the Liverpool One brewery as well as a variety of wine, lager, cider and soft drinks. USL’s funding cut amounts to £35,000; and together the Fab Collective, Nick Bray and the artists aim to raise in excess of £1,000 towards this target. The pictures to be auctioned are available to view at www.fabcollective.com ; and if you would like to a commission bid (maximum or fixed price) for any of the lots you can do so by emailing info@fabcollective.com and noting your name, contact details, lot number and maximum bid.
