The Smithfield Festival 2009 Combinies two of Dublin's most popular events:

EUROCULTURED celebrates diversity of modern European Culture via live art, dance, music, performance and interactive workshops, working with the best bands, street artists, DJs, dancers, cabaret and inspirational folk from all corners of Europe.

URBAN GARDEN takes a concrete canvas and turns it into a gritty urban garden with architecturally salvaged planters, quirky flower boxes, interactive performers, interactive play area, musicians, street artists, circus skills workshop area, staging area, eccentric planting workshop area, picnic and market area. Award winning landscape gardener, Peter Donegan, returns to Smithfield aiming to create a small urban garden, filled with nothing but what could have been thrown out including washing mashine, cookers, sateilite dishes.

USL will be playing on the main stage, and leading participatory sessions throughout the day.
